The largest of the Air New Zealand All Black fleet has arrived today at Auckland International Airport. Their new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft touched down and lined up next to the smallest of the All Black fleet.
This newest Air New Zealand Boeing 777-300ER , the world’s largest commercially operated aircraft to be painted all black, touched down in New Zealand for the first time today at Auckland International Airport.
The aircraft’s all black paint job is overlaid with a design featuring New Zealand’s distinctive silver fern that extends across the rear of the aircraft up to its tail.
This unique paint job was extremely complex requiring 14 expert painters at Boeing working in shifts of 24 hours a day to get the job done. Painting of the 777 aircraft is part of Air NewZealand’s sponsorship of the New Zealand Rugby Football Union and the World Champion All Blacks rugby team.
Air New Zealand has also added another aircraft into its All Black fleet. their smallest, the Beech 1900D.
