Flybe will be offering a total of up to 3,080 flights a week on 145 routes amongst which are eight new routes. As a result, Flybe is giving 7.3 million passengers the freedom to enjoy the summer with an extensive timetable that also includes the reintroduction of a wide choice of popular summer sea and sun destinations including regional France, Portugal, Spain and Croatia.

In addition, this weekend also marks the start of Flybe’s new Manchester hub operations that offers an additional 86 regional point to point connections and 12 new flights through Manchester airport. In committing to better serve its passengers with improved connectivity with reduced minimum domestic connecting times both domestically and for onward  international travel, Flybe’s new initiative will benefit in particular passengers travelling to and from Aberdeen, Belfast City, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Inverness and the Isle of Man as well as those flying with its franchise partner Loganair from Norwich.

Regional highlights for summer include two new summer routes from Manchester to Newquay and Knock in Western Ireland, to where a new service from Leeds Bradford will also start; also Newcastle to Bergen (Norway); Newquay to Belfast City and Norwich; between Birmingham and Waterford (Ireland) and from Southampton to Tours in France.  In addition, Loganair are offering four new flights out of Norwich (to Exeter, the Isle of Man, Manchester and Southampton).

Simon Lilley, Flybe’s Director of Marketing comments:

“With the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee celebrations this summer, Flybe is the perfect 2012 travel solution for people wanting to take advantage of short travel breaks closer to home. This opens up a wealth of travel possibilities with Flybe’s convenient flights and connections. Our new summer schedule shows us cementing our position as Europe’s largest regional carrier and building Flybe into a bigger and stronger airline.”

“In continuing to keep Britain on the move, we are confident we have come up with summer travel options that are both extensive and affordable for Summer 2012.  We are also pleased that, through our many codeshare partners, we are able to offer our customers even more travel choice that extends further our reach across Europe and the rest of the world.”

“Travellers can be assured that by choosing to fly with Flybe this summer, they will enjoy travelling with the largest regional airline in Europe that is committed to continually improving the flying experience.”

Flybe has established a strong presence at London Gatwick airport from where it will operate 10 routes during Summer 2012 that, as well as its convenient UK regional services, also includes the return of a twice daily service to Nantes and the ever popular weekend flights to Bergerac.

The airline flies over four times more domestic routes than any other airline from London Gatwick and remains the consistent holder of the airport’s Gold Award for outstanding punctuality.
