Iberia is deploying the largest number of special flights in the history of the European Football Cup competition.
The Spanish carrier has placed two Airbus A340 aircraft and four Airbus A320 family aircraft at the disposal of the Royal Spanish Football Federation for the European Cup final. These aircraft will be used for flights between Spain and Kiev, the Ukrainian capital, where on Sunday 1st July the Spanish and Italian national football teams will battle it out on the pitch in the final of the 2012 European Cup.
Along with the two of Iberia’s largest aircraft, the Airbus A340, the carrier will also use two smaller A321 aircraft and two A319 aircraft.
Spanish travel agent Viajes El Corte Inglés is also selling over 500 seats on the aircraft for football fans who want to see the football match first hand in Kiev.
The majority of the flights will depart from Terminal 4 at Madrid airport on Sunday morning, and will return after the match.
