Ethiopian Airlines has announced the route destinations, mainly in Africa, for its first 787Dreamliner which is expected later next weekend.
It will be the first airline outside of Japan to operate the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
The first Ethiopian Dreamliner will touch down in Addis Ababa at Bole International Airport on 17 August 2012. The first flight of Ethiopian 787 dubbed “The Dream Tour,” will be on the 18th August, with a sightseeing flight to Mount Kilimanjaro for around 270 invited guests, consisting of Ministers, Ambassadors, other VIPs, Ethiopian ShebaMiles Gold Members and the media.
International flights will begin the following day, the 19th August. The airline with rotate the Dreamliner on a variety of African and international destinations. These will include Kilimanjaro, Mombassa, Harare, Lusaka, Nairobi, Entebbe, Lagos, Johannesburg, Abuja, Malabo, Douala, Lomé, Accra, Maputo, Luanda as well as to Dubai, Mumbai, Rome, London and Frankfurt.

In affirmation of its commitment as Africa’s flagship carrier, we are naming our 1 st B787 Dreamliner as “Africa First”.
Once the airline takes delivery of its second 787 Dreamliner, the aircraft will operate on an assigned scheduled route, which will be announced in the near future.
