JAL inflight food takes off with enhanced meals with restaurant in the sky

Japan Airlines (JAL) has been introducing enhanced inflight food on its North America, European, Australian and Southeast Asia routes with its exclusive restaurant in the sky meals since January 2013.

The airline now has a new member of their team of star chefs with the arrival of Japanese Chef Shinichi Sato. This team of star chefs create Western meals for First Class and Business Class passengers on flights from Paris to Japan.

For First Class and Business Class

Two world renowned Japanese chefs, Mr. Hiroki Yoshitake and Mr. Shinichi Sato joined the dream team of star chefs for JAL Bedd-Sky Auberge in December 2013. The menu from December 2013 was created by Chef Hiroki Yoshitake, Executive Chef of “Sola” in Paris, who received a Michelin one star rating for France, and we have received many good customer reviews about this collaboration, as the menu is created by world renowned chef and its delicious taste like the meals served in the restaurant.

Inflight Food

The menu from March 2014 is created by Chef Shinichi Sato, Executive Chef of “Passage 53” in Paris, who is the first Japanese to receive a Michelin two star rating for France.

.”Marron’in” Chocolate Sponge Cake flavored with Rum & Banana and Chestnut Bavarian Cream.

The dessert is created especially for this collaboration menu by Mr. Jean-Paul Hévin who is one of the world’s top class chocolatiers. JAL will serve this specifically created dessert on just their Paris route.

Premium Economy and Economy Class

 

Starting from the 1st March the 12th installment of the popular Air Series meals will appear on board. The well-liked “Ore-no Kinaishoku for Resort” from the spring menu, on the Hawaii route, will be introduced as part of the “JAL Kitchen Gallery” for Premium Economy and Economy Class passengers.

“Ore-no Kinaishoku for Resort” on Hawaii route (Spring Menu)

The “Ore-no Kinaishoku” menu was created in collaboration with “Ore-no Italian” and “Ore-no French” and has been introduced in Economy Class on Hawaii flights since September 2013. JAL have received a growing number of positive passenger reviews regarding this collaboration. This selection of inflight food tastes as good at 38,000ft as it does in a restaurant.

The new Spring Menu has been created by two talented chefs, Mr. Kazuhide Nose and Mr. Toshihiro Yamaura. The menu consists of a combination of French and Italian cuisine, created especially for JAL.

JAL will continue seeking ways to bring passengers a unique and completely refreshing on board experience through more delectable meal choices in its flying restaurant.

 

The 12th installment of AIR SERIES

JAL have added another version of the popular MOS Burger for the Spring, its fourth collaboration of innovative inflight menus designed by JAL and MOS. Passengers will be served warm buns and a hamburger patty wrapped in a special burger wrap, three kinds of vegetables (lettuce, tomato, sliced onion) and original carrot sauce so that they can arrange and make their own hamburger. The vegetables are produced by MOS Burger’s contracted farmers in Japan and carefully selected by MOS Burger. It is a refreshing meal to take before arriving at your destination.
