British Airways has launched its World Sale with huge discounts on flights and holidays across the globe from Heathrow, Gatwick and London City.

The airline’s sale kicks off today (August 23) and will run until midnight on September 21 for travel dates from September 2016 until June 2017. It includes British Airways’ new, and longest ever route to Santiago which launches January 3, 2017 with sale fares starting from £749 return.

Between the opening and closing ceremonies the airline saw a 60 per cent increase in the number of people searching for flights to the Brazilian capital versus-last-month.

For those wanting to hit the slopes this winter British Airways has also dropped its prices to ski gateways. Fly to  Geneva (from £68 return), Salzburg (from £74 return), Friedrichshafen (from £68 return) and Innsbruck (from £77 return)
